Metaphysical positions

You are invited to a show of new work on Friday 24th November 6-8pm & Saturday 25th November 10-4pm.

I am currently researching and exploring themes of gendered fluid identity and its relationship to feminist theory, and metaphysical positions. For women it is essential to think of ‘individuality differently, allowing otherness to exist within it and along side it, [in] patterns of potentiality and flow’ (Christine Battersby, Phenomenal woman: feminist metaphysics and the patterns of identity, p.57)

Using bitumen paint as a metaphor for fluidity and movement, historical referents and gesture engage interpersonal and interactional meaning, and textual colour embodies simulated space and movement.

There are also other studio openings in Bread Street at  the Janine Wing Gallery, Five the Beehive, TR18 2EJ .

RECLAIM THE NIGHT PZ, walk for women against violence is also happening in and around Penzance with performance after 8pm, at the Hypatia Trust, Chapel street, with Rene Crouch.
